We are delighted that construction of the LOOP supermarket in Haimhausen has started, a real highlight for us and an important step in implementing Cradle to Cradle in retail. The project impressively demonstrates how recyclability can also become a reality in the retail sector.
Why is the project special?
The facts about the project:
Realised in the Munich/Dachau metropolitan area, in Haimhausen near Munich RATISBONA Handelsimmobilien together with EDEKA Südbayern, the first LOOP market and thus sets a new standard for circular retail properties. The building is consistently planned in a circular manner. The market is complemented by an outdoor space concept based on the sponge city principle, with a focus on biodiversity and quality of stay. This creates an infrastructure that saves resources and is noticeably good for people.
Our role at EPEA — Part of Drees & Sommer:
We support the project from the start and contribute our know-how to the development and implementation of Cradle to Cradle measures. This includes evaluating recyclability with the Circularity Passport, testing all materials used (from flooring to furniture and shopping trolleys) and assistance with tendering and quality assurance.
