Awards for the materials cadastre including Madaster Match: The solution from Madaster Germany was recently honored with the Circularity Champion Award and the German Sustainability Award. As a cooperation partner, EPEA warmly congratulates them on this success.
Facilitating the reuse of resources and advancing circular value creation in the construction industry through digital material data: this is exactly where the Madaster material passport comes in. With the addition of Madaster Match, installed materials are not just documented; materials from buildings can also be identified for reuse and recycling and matched with potential buyers.
Double recognition for circular construction
Madaster Germany was honored with the Circularity Champion Award 2026 in the "Systemic Rethinking" category. From EPEA's perspective, it is particularly gratifying that EPEA itself received the Circularity Champion Award in the same category last year.
The expert jury of the German Sustainability Award has also recognized the material passport with Madaster Match. They particularly highlighted the evolution from pure material data management to the practical brokerage of secondary raw materials. By linking information on quantities, quality, and locations, specific material flows become more predictable. According to the jury, initial projects have already shown that materials have been successfully brokered between demolition and new use via Madaster Match.
EPEA and Madaster: working together for a circular economy
EPEA and Madaster already share a close partnership with a common goal: to make the data necessary for a circular economy in the building sector usable.
This double award highlights the importance of transparent material information for the transformation of the construction industry. Knowing which resources are present in buildings and where they will become available creates an essential foundation for reusing materials and keeping them in circulation in the future.
We warmly congratulate the entire team at Madaster Germany on these two awards!
