‍

The new Continental management building in Dortmund is an ensemble of three interconnected office buildings and is brought together on the ground floor by a central boulevard that bundles the shared areas. Despite its location on busy roads, the building structure ensures noise-protected, green courtyards with a high quality of stay.

The office space can be used flexibly, as the interior walls are not load-bearing and can therefore be adapted to future requirements. Overall, the result is a functional, clearly structured ensemble that offers a modern working environment for employees.

The building received DGNB Gold certification, which was fully supervised by Drees & Sommer. In doing so, Drees & Sommer developed and supported a holistic sustainability concept with EPEA, which made a significant contribution to the quality and achievement of the project's objectives. The building is heated and cooled with geothermal energy, and the required electricity is generated by photovoltaic systems on the roof surfaces. They are complemented by diverse roof greening, which contributes to improving the microclimate.
