We are delighted that construction of the LOOP supermarket in Haimhausen has started, a real highlight for us and an important step in implementing Cradle to Cradle in retail. The project impressively demonstrates how recyclability can also become a reality in the retail sector.

Why is the project special?

  • Regionality: Finally a C2C pilot project in Bavaria! The LOOP market will be a place that we can recommend as a best practice in the future.
  • Innovation: Despite the construction crisis, RATISBONA Handelsimmobilien focuses on recyclability and shows what is already possible today.
  • Accessibility: Unlike many pilot projects, the LOOP market is publicly accessible, everyone can see for themselves.

In the Munich/Dachau metropolitan region, in Haimhausen near Munich, RATISBONA Handelsimmobilien is creating the first LOOP market together with EDEKA Südbayern, setting a new standard for circular retail properties. The building is consistently planned in a circular manner. The market is complemented by an outdoor space concept based on the sponge city principle, with a focus on biodiversity and quality of stay. This creates an infrastructure that saves resources and is noticeably good for people.
