NOVO-TECH is a manufacturer of polymer-bonded wood composite materials and has pursued the vision of replacing tropical hardwoods with products made from locally sourced, PEFC-certified residual wood fibres since 2005. Wood shavings from regional sawmills and planing mills are transformed into a high-quality material designed for multiple cycles of material recovery and reuse. The company follows a holistic development approach and manufactures key components, ranging from tooling to parts of its production equipment, in-house at its site in Aschersleben, Germany.
The basis of all products is GCC (German Compact Composite), a wood composite containing up to 75% natural fibres (oven-dry basis), produced using a patented process. GCC HOLZart features an especially high natural fibre content and offers a distinctly wood-like appearance and feel. It is robust, dimensionally stable, and suitable for outdoor applications without the need for a plastic coating. GCC HARZart combines wood fibres with recycled synthetic resin, resulting in a denser material with lower moisture absorption and high scratch resistance, making it ideal for long-lasting applications such as façades, decking, and privacy screens. Both product variants are designed for material recovery and reintegration into the material cycle and are part of the company’s own take-back system.
